LantinX Heritage Lunch Ft. Officer Mitchell's Favorite Brazilian Dish
Each month, the Food and Culture program celebrates and features members of the SSU community who are part of a cultural or underrepresented group. In recognition of LatinX Heritage Month, Culinary Services highlighted Officer Mitchell and brought a taste of Brazilian cuisine to The Kitchens by featuring one of his favorite dishes.
The LatinX Heritage Lunch gave students, staff, and faculty an opportunity to come together over food while celebrating the people and cultures represented within the Sonoma State community. Guests were invited to experience authentic Brazilian flavors and learn more about the cultural connections behind the featured meal.
At Sonoma State Culinary Services, food is an opportunity to celebrate diversity, build community, and create connections across campus. Throughout the year, the dining team hosts heritage and history events honoring a variety of cultures, identities, and traditions. From LatinX and Black History Month to Women's History Month and Pride celebrations, these events highlight traditional flavors alongside contemporary interpretations while providing opportunities for the campus community to experience and appreciate culture through food.
Through the Food and Culture program, Culinary Services continues to put members of the SSU community at the center of these celebrations, sharing their stories, traditions, and favorite foods with fellow Seawolves.
