Food Insecurity
We will talk about Lobo's Pantry and working with JUMP
Lobo's Pantry
Lobo's Pantry is a space on campus that provides nutritious food, CalFresh food program assistance, and referral services for students experiencing food insecurity (those not having reliable access tio a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food).
Fall 2018 Lobo Pantry hours are: Mondays: 11am - 2pm,Tuesdays: 4 - 6pm, and Wednesdays: 3 - 6pm. Lobo's Pantry is located in Zinfandel across the street from the Student Health Center. Any student enrolled at Sonoma State University is eligible to use the food pantry as often as once a week. The food pantry carries nonperishable items only. Examples include beans, pasta, canned vegetables, dry rice, breakfast bars, coffee and tea, and quick meals. If you have any dietary restrictions, you can contact JUMP Human Services for assistance. We will have a representative from the Redwood Empire Food Bank available at the pantry twice a month, on the 2nd Tuesday and 4th Monday of the month during Pantry hours, to assist students in signing up for CalFresh services.
In addition, there will be Pop-Up Pantries which will carry fresh produce items such as apples, bananas, potatoes, bell peppers, etc., along with a few non-perishable items. These are scheduled for October 17, November 7 and November 28 from 11:30am-1:00pm. For locations, contact JUMP Human Services.
